The Earl W. Clawater Lectureship

Clawater The Earl W. Clawater Lectureship in Urological Surgery honors the memory of a pioneer urologist. Dr. Clawater entered urology when it was one of the newer medical specialties, and he was a major force in making it available to the people of East Texas during his career of some 40 years. The memorial endowment was presented by Earl W. Clawater, Jr., MD, a man who followed in his father's specialty and continued the urological service of the Clawater Clinic in Tyler, Texas. Both father and son were UTMB-educated and, for brief times in their careers, served on the UTMB faculty. The Earl W. Clawater Lectureship in Urological Surgery assists UTMB in an ongoing educational effort sponsoring presentations on our campus by noted urologists. In doing so, the lectureship is indeed a living memorial to Dr. Clawater.
