I am so sorry to hear about UTMB’s troubles. My heart goes out to you and your team. For those who are looking for jobs, our IT shop has the following openings that may be of interest. We also should have another ERP Technical Specialist position opening soon, to support the Shared Services developer needs. I suspect our salaries are not as healthy as UTMB but we will do our best to compete for their interest. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do to help.

Attached are a couple of IT-related job postings that might be of interest to some folks. The position at UIS will serve as the CU-System CIO -- similar to Marg Knox's role at UT. Since we have three campuses; we've been able to centralize much of our enterprise administrative systems including InfoEd (Angela's org is currently deploying system-wide), Peoplesoft/Campusworks SIS (currently being implemented), and Peoplesoft Finance & HR (already implemented) and host them at CU System's facility in Boulder. I'm on the search committee for this position.
The Director position is at UC Denver and reports to me. You can learn more about Downtown Denver and Auraria (Health Sciences Center) campuses at http://www.ucdenver.edu/. We just put the search committee together yesterday.
CU has a single website to apply for all of our open positions -- http://www.jobsatcu.com. I don't believe the CIO position has been posted as of yet. Both of these positions are unclassified or "at will'. Benefits info can be found at https://www.cu.edu/pbs/benefits/fep/. Although pay is a bit lower here than Texas (we're 49th in the nation for higher-ed funding) we do have some nice benefits such as 23 days of vacation per year and free long-term disability insurance after a year.
Thanks. Aaron.

Ralph, I was distressed to hear about the layoffs at UTMB, and I know that you’ve got your hands full trying to do what’s best for your employees. Good luck – you’re certainly earning your pay these days!
Marg Knox told the LEARN Executive Board about your situation yesterday, and Jim Williams sent the message out this morning about it as well. I want you to know that my division at UNT has 12 positions open right now, ranging from data communications specialists, to PeopleSoft programmers, to Oracle DBA’s. We’d love to have your folks apply for these positions. If they’re interested, they can submit their apps at http://jobs.unt.edu
Thanks and good luck

Ralph:
I was sorry to hear of the developments at UTMB. We have the following 4 technical positions currently open at UTPB and would welcome an opportunity to help with relocating some of the UTMB folks. It would be quite a change from life on the coast and none of the positions pay over $50K but the place does kind of grow on you after a while (20 years). So if you have any folks who thrive in an environment of low pay, high ambiguity with no quality of life, send them our way.

The Director of Finance in the Harris County Psychiatric Center (UTHSC-H’s psych hospital) was telling me that they would probably be looking for one or two IT folks with SMS Invision experience. If there are some folks caught in the reduction that have this type of experience, and that you would recommend, please have them send their resume my way. Unfortunately, they may find the pay isn’t quite what they may have been making at UTMB, but the benefits, including TRS, are the same.
