About Information Services

Information Services aligns IT resources to meet the challenges presented by UTMB’s changing needs while continuing to support our existing customers. The alignment focuses on the following areas:

ü Enhance customer relations with other key information technology areas on campus

ü Improve the telecommunications infrastructure through upgrades and enhancements to voice, video, and data networks.

ü Respond to security requirements

ü Improve decision support abilities to support: market analysis, trending, reporting, forecasting, and the “what ifs”

ü Begin realignment of Clinical IS staff to focus on implementation of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

ü Focus on implementation of new administrative systems
