Information Services aligns IT resources to meet the challenges presented by UTMB's changing needs while continuing to support our existing customers. The alignment focuses on the following areas:
- Enhance customer relations with other key information technology areas on campus
- Improve the telecommunications infrastructure through upgrades and enhancements to voice, video, and data networks
- Respond to security requirements
- Improve decision support abilities to support: market analysis, trending, reporting, forecasting, and the "what if's"
- Begin realignment of Clinical IS staff to focus on implementation of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Focus on implementation of new administrative systems
- Consolidate operational functions to improve system availability
