To receive BlackBerry access on campus, the department must submit the
Mobile Authorization Form and complete an
ITIM Request (requires UTMB intranet access).
Pricing
BlackBerry devices connecting to the Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) will
require a support fee of $10 per month to cover server license and server
support costs.
Messaging
Pin-to-Pin:
BlackBerry devices support direct PIN to PIN emailing; if you know the PIN of your recipient's BlackBerry,
you can compose an email message using the PIN instead of the email address.
BlackBerry Messenger: Use BlackBerry Messenger
to chat with other BlackBerry smartphone users in an easy-to-use instant messaging format.
Please be aware that PIN to PIN and Blackberry messenger does not provide the security and encryption that you get with sending regular e-mails.
They are transmitted in plain text, which allows anyone who intercepts a message to read it.
