Evaluation

During the evaluation period, a validation plan will be developed by the pilot group to determine compatibility with core images. Plans will vary depending on the software evaluated and the level of testing required.

Adoption and Use

When a product has proven its stability and compatibility, it can be implemented on campus as an enterprise tool.

Legacy Support

Hardware or Software that is not the current standard will be categorized as Legacy Support. It will be supported until replaced through the Technology Refresh Program.

Phase Out

Once a revision of software has been determined to no longer be the standard for UTMB, it will no longer be deployed. Installations for such software will require a business case to the Standards Committee based on hardware age and/or vendor issues.

Unsupported

Hardware and Software in the category will be supported with best effort only.
