UTMB
offers wireless PC (Data) Cards through agreements with AT&T Wireless (formerly Cingular Wireless),
Sprint Wireless, and Verizon Wireless. Data Cards operate through the cell networks and
provide the high speed, wide area, wireless connectivity to your laptop computer and convenient access to the
UTMB network, e-mail server and Internet. No cable or cellular phone is needed for internet connection. This service is sold directly to UTMB departments at a discount and rate plans
are billed monthly to authorized UTMB accounts. To obtain this service the
department must complete the Data Card Services Form.

Pricing:
Price for devices and plans vary according to vendor promotions. One
time charges range from free to $49.99 with monthly charges ranging from $49.99
to $59.99. Contact Us for a quote based on current
promotions.
Travel Option:
Want to decrease
your downtime on your next business trip? Want to avoid hotel and conference
access fees? Reserve a card and have high-speed access wherever a cell network
signal is available. Rental fees are only $5 per day for unlimited data
access.
To Request a Data Card Lease:
- Submit an Internal Service Request (ISC) in Peoplesoft designating IS-Cell as the Service Center ID
- Specify dates and preferred carriers
- Forward ISC email confirmation of request to is.wireless@utmb.edu
