Day 10: What is a screen reader?
A screen reader is a software application that enables blind and low-vision users to use a computer. A screen reader uses a text-to-speech engine to translate on-screen information into speech that can be heard through earphones/speakers, or output to a refreshable braille device that can be touched.
Most operating systems have included a built-in screen reader, such as Microsoft Narrator on Windows, or VoiceOver on Mac.
