About the fellowship

The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Fellowship in UTMB's Department of Aerospace and Exploration Medicine trains physicians in diving and hyperbaric medicine, decompression science, and operational medicine. Fellows apply those principles to altitude physiology, dysbaric injury prevention, extravehicular activity, and the medical considerations that shape spacesuit and vehicle design.

The department is recruiting one fellow for the inaugural year, which begins July 1, 2027.
