Suicide Safer Care Office Hours Webinar

Suicide Safer Care office hours webinar
Join the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved and American Association of Teaching Health Centers for a special office hours webinar on Suicide Safer Care on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Suicide is a devastating public health crisis. Suicide rates in the U.S. increased by 35% from 1999 to 2018, and after a brief two-year decline, these rates increased once more in 2021. As nearly half of individuals who end their lives by suicide visit a primary care provider in the month before their passing, providers and organizations in primary care settings can play vital roles in recognizing and intervening with patients at risk.

How can you or your organization incorporate Suicide Safer Care to help prevent suicide in patients and healthcare professionals alike? Join Dr. Virna Little, national suicide prevention expert and Chief Operating Officer of Zero Overdose, for a dedicated Q&A session to ask for guidance on topics such as:

  • Understanding the scope of the crisis, specific risk factors, clinical pathways, and identification and management of patients at risk for suicide
  • How to better incorporate suicide prevention in primary care, including financial and workforce sustainability
  • Supporting healthcare professionals who themselves may be at risk of suicide
Presenter:
• Dr. Virna Little, PSyD, LCSW-r, SAP, CCM, Chief Clinical Officer and Co-Founder of Concert Health, Co-Founder of Zero Overdose
