Institutional Accreditation Update: March 2026

Progress continues with the process-based standards (Sections 7 and 8 of the SACSCOC standards), and OIE continues to meet with faculty and staff regarding the assessment and attainment of student learning objectives in each of our degree granting programs. See the complete list of standards.

In addition to degree programs, these standards encompass administrative offices and services across UTMB.  OIE has met and continues to meet with leadership in each of these areas including the many departments within Business Operations & Facilities, Information Technology Services, Faculty Development, Research Services, Continuing Education, the HEC, to name just a few.

OIE also continues to meet with leaders in our student and academic support arears to review their detailed assessment reports and record improvement opportunities.

Concurrent to the development of the self-study is the development of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). Substantial progress has been made in defining the institutional QEP.  Drs Katie Branch and Ashley Parikh and the QEP Planning Committee have agreed on the title, goals and objectives for the proposed QEP.  The committee continues to meet to develop the full proposal including implementation timelines, activities, and evaluation processes.  The full project proposal is due to SACSCOC in mid-2027.

Finally, progress continues on loading narratives and supporting documentation for standards in sections 2 through 5 into the accreditation support software.

A huge thank you to all the faculty, staff and administrative leaders who have and continue to support these efforts.
