The School of Nursing and SPECTRE (Special Pathogens Excellence in Clinical Treatment, Readiness, and Education Program) have launched a joint project to enhance infectious disease preparedness for nursing students.
“Empowering Nursing Students with High-Consequence Infectious Disease Training for Enhanced Health Outcomes”
The program stems from a President's Cabinet Award granted to Dr. Shinu Joy, Associate Professor of Instruction in the SON Department of Undergraduate Studies, and Dr. Corri Levine, Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and Associate Director of SPECTRE.
This important initiative will better prepare our nursing students to respond with confidence and skill during critical public health situations.
