Every year, the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) hosts it's Annual Meeting, an opportunity for members and the public are welcome to join them in Washington, DC or online to learn more about a selected topic. From October 18-20, 2025 UTMB Health's Department of Family Medicine and Community Health Chair, Kendall M. Campbell, MD, FAAFP, attended NAM's Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. The theme for the meeting was "Frontiers of AI & Health: Care, Discover and Education".

- James C. Puffer, MD is currently a Professor Emeritus of Clinical Family Medicine in the Division of Sports Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), located in Lexington, Kentucky, from 2003-2018.
- Larry Green MD is Distinguished Professor of Family Medicine and the Epperson-Zorn Chair for Innovation in Family Medicine and Primary Care at the University of Colorado.
