On behalf of the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health, I am thrilled to announce that Dr. Ernst Nicanord has been appointed as the permanent Program Director for the UTMB Family Medicine Residency Program, effective immediately.
Dr. Nicanord has served as our Interim Program Director since June 13, 2025 and has demonstrated exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication to resident well-being, and a clear vision for the educational future of our program. Through his leadership he has:

- Enhanced CCC Structure & Performance Review Process
