Overview
Dr. McLellan completed her medical education at Tulane University of New Orleans, after pursuing a degree in anthropology at Princeton University and a Master’s in Public Health at the University of California at Berkeley. She began a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Los Angeles County – University of Southern California and completed that program at the University of Miami – Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. McLellan went on to Emory University for her fellowship in adult Infectious Diseases, and stayed on there as faculty in the HIV care program. In 1997 Dr. McLellan returned to her home town of New Orleans and Tulane University, and for 20 years held dual faculty appointments in the Section of Infectious Diseases in the School of Medicine, and in the Tropical Medicine Department of the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She joined UTMB in March of 2018.
