Overview

The Division of Allergy and Immunology is a major referral center in the state of Texas for comprehensive diagnostic work-up and management of patients with allergic and immunologic diseases. The Allergy Division is renowned for its innovative approaches to helping patients with complex cases and for communicating promptly with referring physicians. The faculty members have been repeatedly named in the "Best Doctors of America" and are consistently ranked highly in the Press Ganey Survey on patient satisfaction.

Comprehensive patient care is provided for all types of allergic and immunologic conditions, including:

  • Asthma
  • Difficult-to-manage allergic rhinitis and chronic sinusitis
  • Refractory urticaria
  • Angioedema
  • Recurrent anaphylaxis
  • Immunodeficiency
  • Mastocytosis/Mast Cell Disorders
  • Drug allergy
  • Food allergy
  • Eosinophilic disorders

 

Clinical services of the Division are rendered through outpatient and inpatient consultative services in Galveston and on the mainland. The Division has pioneered the use of telemedicine to manage patients with complicated asthma and other allergic disease.
