  • Change or Unlock Your UTMB Password

    Use the tools listed below to change your UTMB domain password from the UTMB network or elsewhere. The Microsoft Online Password Management Tool will also allow you to unlock your existing password, if you've been locked out of your UTMB account. Get detailed instructions.

  • Password complexity rules and policy

    • Password must be at least 8 characters
    • Password cannot contain first name, last name, or UTMB username
    • Password must contain at least one letter and one number
    • Password cannot contain a dictionary word
    • Password must not be the same as any of the last 20 passwords used

From your Windows computer

Note: Computer must be connected to the UTMB network.

  1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete on your Windows keyboard, and then click Change Password.
  2. Type your current UTMB password followed by a new password as indicated, and then type the new password again to confirm it.
  3. Press Enter.
  4. If the text you entered in the two 'new password' fields matches exactly, your password will be changed.

Use Citrix to reset your password

  1. Navigate to https://storefront.utmb.edu.
  2. Log in (Duo required).
  3. In the right corner, click on your name to see a drop-down menu with other selections.
  4. Select Change password.
  5. In the box that appears, enter your current password in the 'Old password' field.
  6. Enter a new password in the first 'New password' field, then again in the second field, to confirm it.
  7. Click Confirm to complete the password change process.

Microsoft Online Password Management Tool

Unlock or change your password from any device, anywhere, anytime!

If you have already set up the Microsoft Online Password Management page, you can unlock or change your UTMB password online, even if you are not connected to the UTMB network. Here are detailed instructions (PDF).

Change your UTMB password within Office 365

  • Visit https://www.office.com and log in with your existing UTMB credentials (Duo required).
  • Click the 'gear' icon in the upper right, near your account avatar.
  • Select and click 'Change Your Password.'
  • In the box that appears, enter your current password in the 'Old password' field.
  • Enter a new password in the 'Create new password' field, then again in the 'Confirm new password' field.
  • Click on 'Submit.'
  • If the text entered in the two new password fields match, your password will be changed.

Customers with MacOS computers should use Citrix or Office 365 to reset their passwords. If you are using a separate password to log into or unlock your Mac, it will not be changed.
