Eight original projects at the University of Texas Medical Branch have earned President’s Cabinet awards totaling $204,987.

The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) has elected Dr.Pei-Yong Shi as one of the 2021 Fellows. He will be inducted at the NAI Fellows Induction Ceremony at the 11th Annual Meeting of the National Academy of Inventors on June 15, 2022, in Phoenix, Arizona.

The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) has earned a prestigious national award for superior quality and care provided to patients. Earning five stars, the university is among a small number of academic medical centers nationwide to receive the 2017 Vizient Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Award. The award recognizes UTMB for demonstrating superior quality and safety performance as measured by the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study.
