Dear UTMB Colleagues,

Today, it is my honor and privilege to announce the appointment of Jamie D. Bailey as UTMB Health’s new Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Jamie, who will join our team on April 1, is a visionary leader who brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of financial excellence and capital planning and management, which are vital to our academic and clinical programs. 

As the EVP and CFO, Jamie will provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the financial success to support our clinical, research, education and innovation missions. Jamie brings two decades of experience in finance and accounting to UTMB. Since 2012, he has served in financial leadership roles at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston—most recently as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Baylor, he was in leadership positions at FTI Consulting/KPMG Dispute Advisory Practice and Deloitte Financial Advisory Services.  

He earned his MBA at the Rice University Jones School of Business and holds credentials as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Investigator. 

I also want to take this opportunity to thank Aaron LeMay for his service as Interim Chief Finance Officer in addition to his Vice President role. His willingness to take on interim leadership of our financial and business support areas during this transition period for UTMB is greatly appreciated.
