The Dr. Suzanne Kneuper Linder Research Award Fund is a permanent endowment in the School of Health Professions, established in memory of Dr. Suzanne Linder, former Edna Seinsheimer Levin Endowed Professor in Cancer Studies and Assistant Professor in the Division of Rehabilitation Sciences. Funds distributed from the endowment shall be used to give an award to a Fellow and/or Student and/or other Trainee working in patient-centered research. The awardee is selected by the Director of the Sealy Center on Aging in consultation with the Dean of the School of Health Professions.

Mr. Shah exhibits exceptional clinical and people skills, likely the result of the perspectives he gained from his many community volunteer, advocacy, and public health and mentoring activities. Examples of such activities include being a long-term volunteer/leader at the Ronald McDonald House of Galveston and at St. Vincent’s House Student Clinic for the uninsured and underprivileged. Under Dr. Mukaila Raji’s mentorship, Mr. Shah has been recognized for his research in opioids-related population health research, health policy, and advocacy, with publications in JAMA, Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, and other high impact journals. After graduating from medical school, he plans to complete an internal medicine residency program followed by an oncology fellowship.
