Family Caregiver Support StudyHelping Family Caregivers Access Support While Caring for Older Adults at Home
Researchers at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) are conducting a study to learn more about how healthcare teams can better support family caregivers of older adults receiving Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC).
Family caregivers play an essential role in helping loved ones manage health conditions, medications, daily activities, and other care needs. Providing care can be rewarding, but it can also be physically and emotionally demanding. This study is collecting information to help develop a caregiver support approach in home settings.
Purpose of the Study
This study evaluates the use of an evidence-based caregiver support program in home settings that helps family caregivers of older adults identify and address their own support needs. Researchers specifically want to learn whether this program is feasible to conduct in UTMB’s Home-based Primary Care program.
