SPECTRE Partners with Galveston County Health District for PPE Training

The UTMB SPECTRE program partnered with the Galveston County Health District to deliver a hands-on PPE training for staff at the Animal Control Resource Center in Texas City, Texas. The session was led by Dr. Corri Levine and Jennifer Lirette, RN, and focused on practical infection control principles that animal control professionals can apply during their day-to-day work.

Training emphasized foundational concepts such as appropriate PPE use, risk awareness, and strategies for protecting staff during routine and non-routine exposures. The session centered on preparedness and reinforcing safety practices that apply across a wide range of situations. This training reflects UTMB SPECTRE’s commitment to community partnerships and education sharing, extending preparedness efforts beyond the hospital setting and into the broader community.
