The SPECTRE Program at UTMB is monitoring the ongoing Ebola disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) caused by Bundibugyo ebolavirus. Although the overall risk to the public remains low, outbreaks involving high-consequence infectious diseases highlight the importance of maintaining healthcare preparedness and response capabilities.
