Lyudmyla Marushchak Shares Collaborative Influenza Surveillance Research at Texas ASM Fall 2026 Meeting

SPECTRE is excited to celebrate Lyudmyla Marushchak, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow III, for representing the team at the Texas Branch ASM Fall 2026 Meeting in Houston, Texas! Organized by the Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Department at UTHealth Houston and hosted at Rice University’s BioScience Research Collaborative, the meeting brought together microbiology professionals to share discoveries, exchange ideas, and foster scientific collaboration. This year’s gathering was especially meaningful as it marked the 85th anniversary of the Texas ASM Branch, celebrating more than eight decades of scientific contributions and advancements in microbiology.

At the meeting, Dr. Marushchak presented a collaborative research poster titled “Influenza A Surveillance in Human Clinical Samples and Wild Birds in Galveston County.” The research highlights the importance of a One Health approach to influenza surveillance, emphasizing the connections between human and animal health. By sharing this collaborative work with the broader microbiology community, Dr. Marushchak helped showcase SPECTRE’s research and contribute to important scientific conversations about infectious disease surveillance. Congratulations to Dr. Marushchak and her fellow research collaborators on sharing their work and advancing this important area of research!
