National Public Health Week 2026
National Public Health Week is a time to recognize how public health improves daily life and to focus on practical steps that strengthen communities. UTMB SPPH will mark the week with panel discussions, a career mixer, a student symposium featuring Dr. Umair Shah as keynote speaker, and a community service day.

Apr 6 | Monday — Community Voices Panel 12:00–1:00 p.m. · A lunchtime panel conversation with Access Care of Coastal Texas (ACCT), with time for discussion and audience Q&A. |
Apr 7 | Tuesday — Career Mixer 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. · An informal mixer for students and attendees to connect with guests and learn more about career paths in public health and population health. |
Apr 8 | Wednesday — Public Health Symposium 1:00–4:30 p.m. · An afternoon symposium showcasing public health work through student poster presentations and a keynote address by Dr. Umair Shah. |
Apr 9 | Thursday — Ethics Panel 12:00–1:00 p.m. · A panel discussion focused on ethics in public health practice and research, with audience Q&A. |
Apr 10 | Friday — Service Day Details Coming Soon UTMB SPPH will coordinate a community service opportunity as part of NPHW. Time, location, and any sign-up instructions will be posted once confirmed. |
