The Pepper Investigators Lecture series, co-sponsored by the Center for Health and Clinical Outcomes Research (H-COR), presents Dementia Risk Across the Life Course: Novel Insights and Innovative Data Science Approaches.
Norrina Allen, PhD, MPH, FAHA is the Quentin D. Young Professor of Health Policy in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Professor of Epidemiology, Medical Social Sciences and Pediatrics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. She directs the IPHAM Center for Health Services and Outcomes Research and co-directs the Data Science Hub at the Institute for Innovations in Developmental Sciences (DevSci).
Dr. Allen leads several major vascular and aging cohort studies, including MESA and CARDIA, and contributes to large pooled consortia such as the Dementia Risk Prediction Pooling Project. Her research takes a life course approach to aging-related disease, with particular focus on blood pressure as a shared risk factor for cardiovascular disease and dementia.
