Allie Murphy is currently a PhD student in the UTMB Population Health Sciences program with a focus in infectious disease and women's health. She received her Master of Public Health from UTMB in December 2025 and her Bachelor's of Science in Public Health from the University of Texas at Austin in 2024. Allie currently interns for the IDEA Institute of the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health and works for Project Schoolhouse, a non-profit focused on WASH programs in Nicaragua. Allie conducted teen pregnancy research in El Salvador as a Fulbright Grantee in early 2026. Her work spans global and domestic public health initiatives, including program evaluation for a non-profit in Cambodia, maternal health research for parents in Bangladesh, nutritional analysis for malnourished children in Guatemala, and STD surveillance in Texas’s LGBTQIA+ community. Allie serves as a This is Public Health ambassador with ASPPH for the 2025-2027 school years. She is a member of professional organizations, such as Sisters In Public Health and the Public Health Epidemiology Conversations community. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, trying new coffee shops, and cuddling with her pitbull.
