How To Apply

Requirements

1	Applicants to the combined programs are not required to have completed any prior residency training. Applicants to the categorical Aerospace Medicine program must have completed a minimum of 1 year of residency training. Due to the competitive nature of our program, most applicants have completed at least one prior residency training program.
2	Must have passed Steps 1 and 2 of USMLE or COMLEX in no more than 3 attempts. Contact the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) to request an official USMLE transcript for application.
3	Must have current ECFMG certification (if international graduate).
4	Must meet all School of Public and Population Health admission requirements upon acceptance into the program.
5	Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident, due to United States governmental support of the program.
6	Must be eligible to obtain either a Texas Physician in Training permit (PIT) or a full Texas medical license from the Texas Medical Board.

Interview Day #2, Categorical and Combined Applicants In-Person

Second interview day for all Categorical and Combined applicants.

All applicants should expect to interview twice, once on Interview Day #1 and once on Interview Day #2 for their respective program. Categorical applicants interview on both October 16 and November 13. Combined applicants interview on both October 22 and November 13. Applicants who are unable to commit to both interview days will not be considered for the program.

Dec	Categorical Applicants Notified Aerospace Medicine categorical applicants receive program decisions.

Mar	Combined Applicants Participate in the Match™ Aerospace Medicine combined applicants participate in the National Resident Matching Program Match™.

Categorical Aerospace Medicine Residency

Submit your application through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) to program number 3834866118.

Combined Aerospace Medicine/Internal Medicine Residency

Submit your application through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) to combined program number 7574844009. The National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) program code is 1714757C0.

Combined Aerospace Medicine/Emergency Medicine Residency

Submit your application through ResidencyCAS to combined ACGME program number 7974800001.

Residents accepted into all programs will be required to apply to the UTMB School of Public and Population Health.

Combined Aerospace Medicine Residency

Applicants to the Internal Medicine/Aerospace Medicine combined program must submit an application through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) for combined program number 7574844009. The National Residency Application System (NRMP) program code is 1714757C0.

Applicants to the Emergency Medicine/Aerospace Medicine program must submit an application through ResidencyCAS for program number 7974800001.

Applications and acceptance into the program will be considered separately by each specialty (Aerospace Medicine/Internal Medicine/Emergency Medicine) for the combined residencies.

Residents accepted into the program will be required to apply to the UTMB School of Public and Population Health.
