Carmen Haynes is a first-year PhD student in the
Bioethics and Health Humanities program and alumna of the SPPH Master of Public
Health Program. Carmen holds a Bachelor of Science from Xavier University of
Louisiana and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from The University of Texas
Medical Branch. Her primary research interests include Black maternal morbidity
and mortality, Race and Healthcare, Intersectional experiences in medicine,
Reproductive Ethics and Justice, and Race, Grief and Healthcare.
