About Me

Evelyn Lamb joined the department in 2025 as a PhD student in Bioethics and Health Humanities. She holds an MA in Germanic Literature, Languages, and Culture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as well as a BA in Economics and a Minor Certificate in Art History. Her thesis concentrated on bodily aesthetics under German fascism and the role of public opinion in persecution. During the pandemic, Evelyn worked as a research blogger, tracking the progression of Covid-19 in Europe. Her proudest accomplishment remains her distinction as a Teacher Ranked Outstanding by Students in 2023. Upon completion of the program, Evelyn hopes to pursue dual employment as a Professor and Clinical Ethicist.

Research interests: bodily aesthetics, fascism & eugenics, disability studies, medical interventions for cosmetics and longevity, public opinion and persecution, collective trauma, madness and insanity in literature, graphic medicine, mental health amongst medical professionals, pedagogy in medical curriculum, health economics, health law, holistic medicine, and women’s health, particularly surrounding pregnancy and menopause.
