Welcome to the homepage of the Department of Global Health at the UTMB School of Public and Population Health!
As interim chair for the Department of Global Health and Associate Dean for Public Health Practice, I am honored to lead our department during this transformative time. Our department leverages UTMB’s strengths in biomedical research, clinical care, and interprofessional education to improve health outcomes both locally and globally.
During this transformative period, our department is focused on several key initiatives. We are increasing international opportunities by expanding scholarly opportunities for our students. Additionally, we are enhancing our global health education programs by developing a global health concentration within our MPH program. We aim to expand our global presence by establishing more UTMB-affiliated sites worldwide. Furthermore, we are committed to enhancing interprofessional efforts by strengthening collaborations both internally and externally.
The establishment of the Department of Global Health in the UTMB School of Public and Population Health is a natural progression of UTMB’s commitment to public health. We are ready to lead in meeting emerging health challenges globally and locally.
Please reach out with any questions, and stay tuned for more information.
