About Me

Dr. Philip Keiser is Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and an infectious disease physician, educator, and researcher with more than 30 years of experience in the care and treatment of people living with HIV and related infections. He provides strategic leadership for workforce development, community engagement, and federally funded public health initiatives that strengthen the healthcare workforce and improve health outcomes. Dr. Keiser serves as Principal Investigator for the South Texas Oklahoma AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC), Texas AHEC East, and multiple Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program initiatives. He previously chaired the Texas HIV Medication Advisory Committee (formerly the Texas AIDS Drug Assistance Program Advisory Board) and has served as an investigator in more than 50 HIV clinical trials. Since 2006, he has contributed to the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), providing HIV clinical care, education, and research in Kenya, where his work has focused on improving outcomes for patients receiving antiretroviral therapy.
