Galveston County Daily News (Internet / Print) 06/28/06http://news.galvestondailynews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=788340ee4cac2d12 Letter to the Editor: In regard to the story, “Couple protests decision on health care” (The Daily News, June 17): I can understand how this family feels about the treatment they received from the University of Texas Medical Branch. I am a parent of a 7-year-old boy with no insurance, and we do not qualify for any assistance or discounts. The doctors and nurses have been very helpful and agree that he needs this so we can find out if he needs a hearing aid, but finance is out of their hands. So right now I’m hoping and praying that my son can get the treatment he needs. It’s not his fault, but he is the only one that is going to suffer. I know our children are the future, but I feel they are not important enough to UTMB unless they have insurance or money.
