Outpatient Services
UTMB provides outpatient services for our patients at Galveston and
League City campuses. The pharmacies are open Monday through Friday
between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. We provide timely and accurate
prescription services while educating patients on the importance of
their medication therapy. In addition, we provide bedside delivery of
medications for transplant patients upon discharge from the hospital,
and refills are delivered to patient’s home by mail at no additional
cost.
Other outpatient services include IV and chemotherapy
services for the outpatient infusion clinic, and medication
reconciliation for ED patients including educating patients and/or
caregivers, facilitating continuity of care, assisting with
reimbursement issues, and discussing medication adherence. Clinic
orders are reviewed by pharmacists and drug distribution is managed
through the use of automated dispensing cabinets.
