Research Project

To facilitate the Pharmacy Intern Research Project, each project is overseen by a sponsor/mentor who guides the intern throughout the project. Research projects may encompass clinical or operational audits, medication use evaluations, quality improvement initiatives, and other opportunities for departmental resources and external publications. Student pairing with project mentors is determined by project type, areas of interest, current pharmacy school year, and prior experience. Interns are responsible for scheduling and attending regular meetings with their project mentor. While not obligatory, interns are strongly encouraged to present their projects at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting or similar national conferences. Interns may collaborate with their project mentor or Internship Coordinator to secure available poster funding.
