The Longitudinal Experiential Growth And Clinical Internship (LEGACI) Program is a unique paid pharmacy internship program designed with YOU in mind. Within the UTMB framework, pharmacy residents have the unique opportunity to collaborate closely with physicians across various training levels, as well as with nurses and other healthcare professionals, to deliver optimal patient care.

Established in 2024: The Inpatient Clinical Operations Pharmacy Internship Program is a pivotal initiative within the Department of Pharmacy, offering comprehensive professional development.

Location: Exclusively available at the UTMB Hospital located in Galveston, TX.

Program Integration: Integrates essential pharmacy practices, including:

• Staffing
• Mentorship
• Research opportunities
• Clinical skill development

Intern Experience:

• Gain diverse experience in central and decentralized workflows.
• Engage in sterile compounding, medication distribution, automation, and Emergency Medicine medication reconciliations.

Established in 2024: The Specialty Pharmacy Internship Program represents a strategic endeavor to acquaint students with the intricacies of specialty pharmacy practice, offering comprehensive professional development.

Location: Exclusively available at the UTMB Specialty Pharmacy facility in League City, TX.

Program Integration: Offers immersive experiences encompassing:

• Operations
• Benefits investigation
• Clinical patient management within specialized therapies

Intern Experience:

• Hands-on experience with specialty pharmacy staffing
• Engagement in research and quality improvement initiatives
• Clinical oversight
