Overview

Did you know that some Level Access courses come with certificates of completion or digital micro-credentials that can be added to your LinkedIn profile? If you have a LinkedIn profile, this can be a great addition and is linked to you in a secure and federated way so that it proves you actually completed the course.

Instructions

  1. To do this, once you're logged into Level Access, you'll see My Courses in the top navigation.
  2. Select My Courses.
  3. Your profile will load, and at the bottom, you will start to see, as you scroll down the page, different courses that you have taken.
  4. In this case, we're going to go to Writing Meaningful alt text.
  5. Writing meaningful alternative text is the full course name and you can see it was completed and there's a certificate that you can just view and print or if you want to add it to your profile you can select the icon for LinkedIn Add to profile.
  6. I'm going to select that now and it will load up my LinkedIn account.
  7. Then it allows me a screen to add the License or certification.
  8. It pre-fills the name of the course, the organization, the month it was taken.
  9. You can see here it's using the most recent Month because I've taken the course a couple of times as part of my practice for this video.
  10. There's no Expiration so you can leave the Month and Year blank.
  11. It has a Credential ID that is federated to us as users and then we can add a skill to associate this with and so I'm going to select the icon to add skill and it gives me a text box where I can type
  12. and I'm going to start typing in digital accessibility.
  13. And as I start typing that in, you'll see that Digital Accessibility is the first item in the list, and you can select that.
  14. I don't have any additional Media to add. Let's say you had done a presentation that you wanted to add for other people to view, you could add that here. But for the digital licensing, we don't need to do that,
  15. and we click Save. and then it adds it to the skills section.
  16. If you scroll down on your LinkedIn profile there's... underneath the Experience and under Education there's a Licenses & Certifications section and
  17. It will now show the name of the course and the information about the course and allowed someone to actually select and view your credential.

That's it. That's all it takes. Thanks so much.
