Afternoon Tea with Faculty Development Leaders is a monthly event that provides an opportunity for faculty to network and be mentored in a relaxed setting.

Bringing together leaders from government, healthcare, education, industry, advocacy, and the community to address key health issues through an interprofessional approach and using open dialogue, policy advocacy, research, and public health initiatives.

Join us to celebrate the accomplishments of all UTMB faculty. We will also present the 2026 Faculty Excellence and Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Interested UTMB faculty and staff are invited to attend the Health Education Center (HEC) Faculty & Staff Orientation session to learn more about the services, resources, and support available through the HEC.

The  Heritage Half Hour lecture series features UTMB students, faculty, and staff sharing their knowledge and discoveries of medical history through UTMB’s historical holdings of rare books, illustrations, artifacts, and specimens.

Join us for UTMB’s inaugural half-day online summit, a focused virtual gathering dedicated to exploring critical aspects of assessment and evaluation within simulation-based education. This summit is designed to share cutting-edge models and methodologies, discuss best practices, and foster collaborative approaches to measuring the impact and effectiveness of simulation programs and centers.

IPE Team Talks are held Wednesdays via Teams and hosted by Ashley Parikh, EdD, MSHS, PTA.

The annual application process for election to the University of Texas Kenneth I. Shine, M.D., Academy of Health Science Education is now open. Accomplished educators in all five UTMB schools are encouraged to apply. Submissions should be directed to the Office of Faculty Affairs at facultyaffairs@utmb.edu with the subject line “Shine Academy 2025.” The internal deadline for submitting applications and supporting materials is July 12, 2025, at 5 p.m.
