Trung Quoc "Fred" Ly, DO

Resident Physician

Dr. Ly joined the Department of Family Medicine in 2023. He is a resident physician in training at the Family Medicine Clinic – Island East. Dr. Ly earned his bachelor's degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas and his doctorate of medicine from Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO.

Dr. Ly is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. LY

My name is Trung Q Ly (Fred). I was born, raised, & attended high school in Vietnam. In the US, I attended Austin College (the Roos) for undergraduate study in my second hometown of Sherman, TX. Then, I pursued medical education at Kansas City University in KCMO where the first snow happens around Thanksgiving week. 

I am fluent in both English & Vietnamese. As I progress through residency training at UTMB FM,  I look forward to serving the residents of Galveston County & surrounding communities.

As far as hobbies go, I meditate, spend time with my pet (aka “my child”), watch Kung Fu movies, and eat good food.
