Tyler "Ty" Fields, MD, MS 

Resident Physician

 

Dr. Fields joined the Department of Family Medicine in 2024 after completing her first year of residency training at HCA Healthcare Medical City in Arlington, Texas. She is a resident physician in training at the Family Medicine Clinic – Island West. Dr. Fields earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Neuroscience at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.  She completed a Master's of Science in Medical Sciences at UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Fields also earned her Doctorate of Medicine at Texas A&M School of Medicine.

Dr. Fields is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Dr. Fields has academic, clinical and research interests in Behavioral Health,  Psychiatric conditions, LGBT +  health, Dermatologic procedures, Women's Health, and underserved populations.

 

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. FIELDS

Hi! My name is Ty Fields and I was born and raised in the Houston area.

My favorite part of family medicine is getting to know a little bit of everything and working with the big picture of a person's overall health. I enjoy working with patients to improve mental and behavioral health as I have seen how these provide the foundation to someone's overall well-being. I also enjoy working with people from underserved populations, such as those with disabilities or socio-economic stressors, as this gives me an opportunity to think creatively and help solve issues with access to care that will make a tangible impact in someone's life.

My hobbies include spoiling my cat, playing cozy games on my Switch, and over-watering my house plants.
