  • Lorena Mata Juarez, MD is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine.

    Dr. Mata Juarez completed her residency at Berkshire Medical Center in Massachusetts and earned her medical degree from San Martin de Porres University, where she also completed her internship and was honored as Intern of the Year in both Internal Medicine and General Surgery. Before entering residency in the U.S., she served as a hospitalist and lead physician at Clinica Internacional and other major institutions in Lima.

    Throughout her training, Dr. Mata Juarez has maintained a strong commitment to academic medicine, serving as a teaching assistant at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and mentoring medical students during clinical rotations.

    Dr. Mata Juarez also brings robust research experience, having served as a co-investigator in numerous clinical trials focused on COVID-19 and respiratory illnesses. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and she is a co-author of multiple observational studies exploring vaccine efficacy and inflammatory markers in pulmonary disease.
