  • Dr. Melissa Victory Brodman is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. She previously served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at UTMB, where she also earned her medical degree and completed her residency training. Throughout her residency, she received several honors, including Resident of the Year, Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Resident of the Year, and Overall Outstanding Intern, as well as a nomination for TDCJ Intern of the Year. Fluent in medical Spanish, she is deeply committed to advancing equitable patient care and medical education.

  • Dr. Patrick Sweet is an Assistant Professor in the Division General Medicine. He completed his bachelor's in biology at the University of Central Arkansas. He earned his medical degree at the University of North Texas College of Osteopathic medicine and then completed his residency here at UTMB. He then stayed on and served as Chief resident. He now serves as medical director of the Powell team, clinical core instructor for the internal medicine residency, and physician advisor for the health system.
