Dr. Jayasekera earned his medical degree from the UTMB John Sealy School of Medicine in 2023 before completing his Internal Medicine residency at UTMB. During medical school, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in recognition of his academic achievement. Passionate about medical education, Dr. Jayasekera began teaching as a medical student and USMLE tutor and continues to enjoy teaching bedside procedures to residents and interns. His research interests include pancreaticobiliary disease and hepatology, areas in which he has contributed to numerous publications.
