Dr. Wei-Chen "Miso" Lee is a tenure-track research assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine-Geriatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She received a Bachelor and Master of Science at National Taiwan University. She also possesses a PhD in Health Services Research and a Master of Jurisprudence from Texas A&M University. Her research objective is to advance science and technology related to prevention and better management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and dementia. As a project PI or Co-I, she has multiple publications analyzing national data (e.g., Medical Expenditure Panel Survey, Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project) as well as primary data collection (e.g., phone interviews and focus group discussions). In addition, she is certified as a Community Health Worker (CHW), CHW Instructor, Court Appointed Special Advocate, and Long-Term Care Ombudsman. At her leisure, she likes to play ukulele and pickleball.
