Dr. Suthar earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Oklahoma, where she demonstrated strong leadership and volunteerism and received multiple honors, including All Campus Outstanding Senior Woman. She completed her medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine – School of Community Medicine,
serving as class president during her third and fourth years and earning several awards recognizing professionalism, leadership, and service. She was also inducted into the Golden Humanism Honor Society.
She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch and served as a Chief Resident from 2020-2021. During residency, Dr. Suthar was named a Department of Medicine Intern of the Year and received the Thomas N. and Gleaves James Award for outstanding performance during her third year.
Dr. Suthar completed her Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas, where she served as a Chief Fellow.
Her clinical and research interests include breast medical oncology, cardio-oncology, and supportive care in oncology. She has presented at local and state conferences and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and abstracts. She also has a strong passion for medical education and curriculum development. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology and is board-eligible in Hematology.
She is enthusiastic about contributing to the growth of the Hematology and Medical Oncology division and caring for patients in the Galveston county area!
