We are indescribably pleased to congratulate M.D.-PH.D. student Grayson Jackson on the successful oral defense of his dissertation this week!

His dissertation, entitled "Litigating Professional Autonomy: Evidence, Bioethics, and the Boundaries of Expertise," investigates questions surrounding the politics of knowledge and authority over clinical care. It centralizes an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating literature from bioethics, health humanities, STS (science and technology studies), and law. Dr. Jackson responded insightfully to questions from his committee and demonstrated a clear mastery of his topic.

We are honored to be able to continue to support Grayson as he prepares for a return to UTMB's John Sealy School of Medicine to complete his MD.

Congratulations, Dr. Jackson!
