Student Hannah Carpenter and Faculty publish in The American Journal of Bioethics

Ph.D. Candidate Hannah Carpenter recently collaborated with four UTMB faculty members to publish an article in the American Journal of Bioethics. Entitled "Feminist Considerations in Research Recruitment for Pregnant Persons in Justice-Involved Contexts," this work addresses ethical and regulatory concerns regarding potential research participants who are justice involved but not incarcerated. Specifically, they explore the application of a particular legal parameter (45 CFR 46 Subpart C) in the Healthy Brain and Child Development Study.

Congratulations to Hannah, Dr. McNamara, Dr. Yu, Dr. Campo-Engelstein, and Dr. Smith for their excellent work!
