Institutional Support

Danni began her career with UTMB as an intern in 2014 under SUNY Canton’s Health Care Administration program, and has stayed with Revenue Cycle Operations ever since. She has worked on multidisciplinary projects over that time period, such as the ICD10 roll out, which expanded diagnosis and procedural codes; the Eligibility Denial Reduction project, which used root cause analysis to decrease eligibility related denials by 20%; and most recently she partnered with Compliance to develop and execute UTMB’s action plan in response to the No Surprises Act. Her role as a Project Manager has enabled her to have a diverse vantage point across the UTMB enterprise, and suits her passion to try to make things a little better than how she found them wherever she goes.

Danni has her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, is trained in Lean Six Sigma and Project Management from PMI, and was previously Epic Certified in Hospital Billing. She is in her 7^th year of active volunteerism with the Junior League of Galveston County, and regularly volunteers with Holy Family Parish.

She lives with her husband, two (soon to be three!) children, and mother on the Island, where they thoroughly enjoy every part of this vibrant community. 

Desiree has worked at UTMB in Audit Services for twelve years. Desiree began as a staff internal auditor and was promoted to senior internal auditor in October 2019. Desiree’s career includes over 20 years of internal audit experience with 12 years of healthcare and higher education as both a staff and senior auditor at UTMB.

Desiree’s audit experience includes work at United Space Alliance, and Halliburton.

Desiree obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems at the University of Houston – Clear Lake. She additionally obtained the Certified Internal Controls Auditor designation in April 2019.

Desiree is passionate about the healthcare industry and internal audit. She is a member of several audit related professional organizations including the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Healthcare Compliance Association (HCCA), and the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors (AHIA).
