Philesha Evans, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, is an accomplished professional currently serving as the Vice President of Human Resources at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health).

With a UTMB tenure dating back to 1994, Ms. Evans has played a pivotal role in various capacities within the Human Resources department, showcasing her versatility and commitment to the institution. In her current leadership role, she spearheads the human resources function for UTMB, collaborating closely with executive leadership to design and deliver customer-focused HR programs and practices to meet changing organization and workforce needs. Ms. Evans, drawing on her deep institutional knowledge, has a proven track record of initiating transformative change to enhance operational efficiency and elevate workforce performance at UTMB. Her overarching goal is to position UTMB as an employer of choice in the Greater Houston area.

Ms. Evans holds a bachelor's degree in general studies with concentrations in business and government as well as a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University. She also has professional certifications from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP) and the Human Resources Certification Institute (SPHR).
