Introducing the Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education

The Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) partners with faculty, departments, and program leaders to accredit continuing education that improves practice and patient outcomes through collaborative learning. We support a wide range of educational activities, including conferences, webinars, grand rounds, educational series, and on demand materials, with a strong emphasis on interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) that brings multiple professions together to learn from and with one another.

Our office can directly provide continuing education credit for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, dietitians, and interprofessional continuing education (IPCE). We also collaborate with state and national organizations to offer credit for physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, and clinical or medical laboratory sciences. While single profession‑specific credit can be awarded, we strongly encourage activities that bring together more than one profession, as collaboration across disciplines is central to our mission. To ensure each activity is meaningful and relevant, at least one organizer or content reviewer from each profession receiving credit must participate in the planning or review process.

Getting started is easy. Begin by identifying a practice gap or educational need, then contact the IPCE Office to discuss your idea, target audience, and preferred format. We’ll guide you through the application and approval process to ensure your activity meets accreditation standards. Please note that fees apply for the provision of continuing education credit, and our team is happy to discuss fee structures early in the planning process to support transparency and smooth coordination.
